Through the summer of 2009, Prof.
Schuler supervises the excavation of one of the four
churches at Hippos of the Decapolis, a Roman/Byzantine
city just east of the Sea of Galilee. The
Northeast
Church Project is his particular focus. This
project is part of a larger excavation sponsored by the
University of Haifa.
Upper Midwest Region of the Society of Biblical Literature
Through its annual meeting each year
on the weekend after Easter, the region serves scholars
of the Society of
Biblical Literature, the American Academy of
Religion, and the American Schools of Oriental
Research. Prof. Schuler was the SBL regional
coordinator from 2003 to 2008.
