Typical teaching at Concordia is in the areas of New Testament,
Biblical Greek and Archaeology. General courses in theology may also be
scheduled. Continuing education courses are offered in archaeology, the
Galilean world of Jesus, and early Christianities
At the Hippos Excavation
In conjunction with the Hippos excavation, students may take
courses in the basics of archaeology, field archaeology, Byzantine art and
archaeology, and the material remains of Palestine. Full details are at

Four faculty members from the
Concordia University System have formed an editorial
group in order to produce a four-volume series of
college-level introductory textbooks. Drs. Timothy
Maschke (Concordia University Wisconsin), Steven Mueller
(Concordia University Irvine), Mark Schuler (Concordia
University Saint Paul) and Andrew Steinmann (Concordia
University River Forest) will serve as the editorial
board and respective volume editors. The series, titled
Called by the Gospel: Introductions to Christian History
and Thought from a Distinctly Lutheran Perspective,
will include textbooks for Old Testament, New Testament,
Christian Doctrine and Church History.
